10 Crafty Ideas To Do With Snake Coloring Pages
Are you someone who loves snakes and wants to make cool stuff? Great news! Just for you, I’ve got ten fun craft ideas for snake coloring pages. You can make sock puppets, fold origami, and more. It’s all about having fun and being creative. So, let’s gather up our craft supplies and start making some awesome things together!
1. Snake Sock Puppet
Making a snake sock puppet is simple and super fun. All you need is an old sock, some colorful felt, googly eyes, and glue.
First, remove a snake tongue and a few scales from the felt. Then, attach them to the sock. After that, attach the googly eyes. Ta-da! Now you have a slithery friend, ready for some puppet playtime!
2. Snake Cell Phones
Children in elementary school will absolutely adore these snake mobiles, despite the fact that they might be a little bit spooky.
You will instruct them to color in and cut out a few snakes from my images, and then poke holes all over the middle of their bodies (you may also hang them from their heads or in their tails).
Put one end of the string through the hole and attach it to a wire hanger or needlework hoop.
3. The Book of Snake Facts
If your child is required to write a short report on an animal, why not choose snakes and use my pictures?
Your child should find five or six things and write them right on the pages. Afterward, they can color the pictures in a three-ring folder or portfolio.
4. Coiled Clay Snake
How about crafting a clay snake? It’s super fun to do with snake coloring pages and lets you be super creative.
First, roll the clay into a long snake shape, then coil it up like a real snake. Shape the head with your fingers, then add eyes and a tongue for extra detail. Once your snake looks just right, let it dry in the air or bake it in the oven, following the clay’s instructions.
You’ll be amazed at how real your snake looks when you’re done!
5. Swirling Paper Plate Snakes
To do this craft, you will only need the face of one of my snakes, so make sure you pick a decent one at the time!
Your children will use a paper plate to draw a swirl, ensuring there is about an inch of space between each line.
It could be green, red, orange, or even purple for the snake’s body. Next, they’ll cut along the swirl line.
On top, they’ll glue the snake’s head—which they’ve already colored to match its body—in place.
After that, they can grab the snake by the head and enjoy its twisted, springy body.
6. Snake Terrarium
Making a snake house is a super fun way to mix crafting with loving nature.
First, get a glass jar or a tank. Then, put in some soil, rocks, and sticks to make it feel like a real home. You can even add some pretend plants to make it look cool. Lastly, place your clay snake inside and watch it explore its new home. It’s like having your very own small reptile park!
7. Headbands with Snakes
For the headbands, you’ll need two pieces of construction paper, each cut into two-inch strips long enough to fit around your children’s heads (you may need to combine two pieces).
Your kids are going to color in and cut out snakes from my pictures. They will then glue the snakes to the caps.
If you can, position the snake’s body in the middle so that its head faces forward, and its body hangs down and securely covers the person’s head with the construction paper band.
8. Snake Print Tote Bag
Want to show off your love for snakes in style? How about making a snake-print tote bag?
First, get a plain canvas tote bag and some fabric paint in your favorite snake colors. Use a sponge or brush to make a snake-like pattern on the bag, then add details like scales and eyes.
Let the paint dry, and voila! You’ve got an amazing accessory, perfect for carrying your craft stuff (or maybe even your pet snake) wherever you go!
9. Bookmarks
You should choose an image of a snake that shows the entire body uncoiled, and then have your children color it in and cut it out.
They are going to lay the cutout over a piece of cardstock and trace the outline before moving on to the next step, which is somewhat challenging.
After that, they’ll cut out the shape and glue the two pieces together.
You can also make the snake’s tongue look like a tongue by poking a hole in its mouth and attaching red or orange yarn to it.
10. Snake Origami
Last but not least, let’s have some fun with snake origami. This ancient art form is perfect for creating intricate snake shapes out of paper. Start with a square sheet of paper and follow a simple origami tutorial to fold it into a slithery serpent. You can experiment with different colors and sizes to create a whole family of paper snakes. It’s a relaxing and rewarding craft that’s sure to delight snake lovers of all ages.
As someone who likes snakes, I’ve had a blast trying out these crafty projects. Each one, from making my snake sock puppet to designing a snake print tote bag, has made me feel closer to these amazing creatures. Crafting isn’t just about being creative; it’s also a way to show my love for snakes in a special way. I hope you enjoy these craft ideas for snake coloring pages as much as I do!
