10 Crafty Ideas to do with Seahorse Coloring Pages

Kids love to color seahorses because they are so interesting.

Here are 10 fun, cheap, and hands-on craft ideas you can do with your finished Seahorse coloring pages!

1. Seahorse in a Seaweed Garden

First, pick out your favorite page of seahorses to color and carefully cut them out. Leave it alone for now.

Next, to create your underwater scene, you will need to grab a sheet of construction paper that is light blue and use it as your background. Then, glue green pipe cleaners or strips of tissue paper to make seaweed that is moving and attach it to the page’s bottom.

So it looks like it’s going through its garden, glue your seahorse a little off-center and in the middle of the seaweed.

Put some small paper bubbles, fish or shell stickers, or even glitter on top to give it an ocean-themed look. Hang it on the wall or put it on the fridge to make the ocean feel more at home.

2. Craft a Lovely Décor Item

Glue blue tissue paper puffs on top of a regular paper plate to make an “ocean.”

You can color and cut out two seahorses, then add craft eyes and smiles.

Put some cotton balls on the back of each seahorse and stick them to the “ocean” so they face each other.

Their smiles will make it appear as though they have just met under the water. Place this cute craft anywhere you want by stringing it up.

3. Seahorse Mobile to Hang

To begin, color a variety of seahorses from various pages, ensuring that the sizes and shapes are varied. Simply cut them out and glue them to strong paper to keep them in place.

Make a tiny hole at the top of every seahorse and insert a thread or yarn through it.

Next, tie the strings to a stick or a wire coat hanger at different lengths so your seahorses hang and move slowly, like they’re floating in the water.

To make the mobile more interesting, add things like tissue paper, seaweed, fish with glitter, or small paper bubbles.

Place it near a window or in a cozy spot and enjoy seeing the bright seahorses “swim” in the breeze.

4. Make a Seahorse-Inspired Window Trim

All kids, no matter what age, will enjoy this great group exercise.

Ask them to use a variety of colors to color their seahorses and add decorations like glitter, puffy paint, or pieces of tissue paper.

When they’re done, give the kids a long piece of yarn or package string and tell them to make a long flag out of their seahorses.

5. Sparkly Seahorse Sand Art

To start, grab a coloring page of a seahorse and color it in before cutting it out. Attach it to a piece of sturdy cardstock or construction paper using glue once it’s finished.

Making an ocean floor is now the fun part! To make it look beachy and rough, put glue along the bottom of the page and then sprinkle real sand or brown sugar on top of it.

Put tiny shells, sequins, or even pieces of foil around the seahorse to make it look nicer. Also, use colored paper scraps or pipe cleaners to draw or glue on sea plants and coral.

To make it look even more magical, use a thin line of glue to outline the seahorse and sprinkle glitter around the sides. After letting everything dry, proudly hang or put on a shelf your seahorse scene that sparkles!

6. Construct Drinking Straws of Seahorses

What could be better than a seahorse straw for kids who like to use them? Whether they’re elaborate or simple, get a plastic straw from a novelty store and give one to every kid.

Let them pick their favorite seahorses from your seahorse coloring pages, color them brightly, and cut them out. After that, the seahorses need to be folded into a fan shape, but they need to be done vertically!

Ask them to punch a hole through all three layers so that the straw can fit through. Then, spread the seahorse back out, and you have a great drinking straw.

7. Seahorse Peekaboo Puppet

First, draw a cute seahorse from one of your favorite pages and carefully cut it out.

Next, turn over a small paper cup on its side. Make a small cut in the cup’s side so that a craft stick can fit through.

Attach the seahorse to the tip of a craft stick and then insert the stick into the slit to allow it to move up and down.

You can make the cup look like the ocean by doing things like drawing bubbles, gluing blue tissue paper on it, or adding cutouts of fish.

Now, move the stick and your seahorse will appear from behind the cup, as if it were seen from a coral reef! This craft is easy and funny, and it brings your coloring page to life.

8. Make a Seaside Poster

Have them start with a plain piece of poster board and draw an ocean without any lines.

The next step is for the child to cut out the colored seahorse. Then, using objects such as puffy paint, crêpe paper, cotton balls, glitter, or any other craft item, they may give it a 3D effect.

If you don’t want to use tape rings, you can glue the seahorse to the board with rubber cement and Cheerios in a line that looks like air bubbles coming out of its mouth.

9. Underwater Seahorse Shadow Box

To begin, color and cut out a seahorse from one of your favorite seahorse coloring pages. Pick one that stands out, like one with swirly fins or a tail that moves in multiple directions.

To make a shadow box frame, turn a small cardboard box on its side, like the lid of a trunk or a gift box. To make it feel like the water, paint or cover the inside with blue paper.

After you glue the seahorse to the middle, you can add layers of paper seaweed, cotton balls as “coral,” or little fish molds to create depth.

Lastly, add some glitter or glow-in-the-dark stars to make it look like it’s underwater and magical.

Once finished, your seahorse scene can be hung on the wall or displayed on a shelf, providing a glimpse into an intriguing undersea world!

10. Make a Locker Initial Decoration

When students in your class desire to enhance the appearance of their lockers, there is no better choice than a seahorse initial ornament.

After you color the seahorse, you should cut it out and glue it to cardboard. The youngster can add their initials to the tail and use a pipe cleaner to strengthen it.

After cutting the letter out of construction paper, covering it with clear packing tape, poking a hole in the top, and putting it through the pipe cleaner, you’re done.
