10 Crafty Ideas to do with Clown Coloring Pages

Kids love to color clowns because they are bright, interesting, and funny.

Want to know what to do with all those finished pages? Here are 10 cheap, fun, and creative craft ideas to try.

1. Piping Made Easy Finger Puppets

As a start, give each kid some pipe cleaners and at least one or more clown coloring pages.

You should glue each one to a thin piece of cardboard and then cut it out. Next, use a stapler to connect a pipe cleaner to the bottom of each clown cutout.

When the kids are done, they can spiral the pipe cleaner around one of their fingers to make a fun finger doll that they can take with them anywhere.

2. Clown Hat Party Popper

First, have each kid draw and cut out a clown face from a plate of crayons.

Later, help them make a clown hat out of construction paper by rolling it into a cone shape and decorating it with stars, stripes, or pom-poms.

Place the colored clown face close to the hat’s bottom edge to make it look like the clown is wearing it. For extra style, add bows or streamers that come out of the top.

Lastly, make a small hole in the base on each side and attach string or elastic. This way, kids can wear their funny clown hats or hang them up as fun decorations!

3. Personalized Clown Decorations

A big paper cup and some simple craft supplies are all you need to make this craft, which is great for school.

Next, flip the paper cup over and color the clown. Finally, seal the cup and the page that was cut off.

Attach the lid of a gallon jug to a circle of construction paper to create a silly clown hat. You can draw, cut out, and stick big feet under the cup’s rim.

Big pom-poms make great ears for jokes, and the kids have bright decorations that they made themselves.

4. Clown-in-a-Box Puppet

First, have the kids draw and cut out one of their favorite clown coloring pages.

Use bright paper, stickers, or markers to make a small paper cup or recycled box look like a fair stage or toy box.

You can make the clown move like a doll by gluing a craft stick to the back of it and putting it through a small hole in the top of the box or cup.

To make the scene come to life, add things like glitter, curly ribbon “springs,” or even small flags.

5. The Clown Keeps Going Around and Around

This craft works best with clown pages that show the figure with its arms and legs spread out.

For each kid, make a circle out of a shiny piece of poster board in any way they like.

After coloring the clown, you should cut it out, making sure to leave a little extra paper at the ends of the hands and feet.

After you bend and stick these to the inside of the cardboard circle, you can roll the clown across any flat surface for a lot of fun.

6. Clown Face Mask

If possible, have the kids draw and cut out a clown face that has a big smile.

For support, glue the face to a strong piece of paper or thin cardboard.

You can make the eyes by cutting out circles, and then they can decorate it with yarn for hair, a red pom-pom nose, and glitter.

You can use a craft stick as a handle on the bottom or make holes in the sides and tie string through them to wear it as a mask. It’s great for pretend play or a small clown show.

7. Clown Balloon Buddy

Start by having the kid draw and cut out a clown from one of their clown coloring pages.

To make it look like the clown has a big balloon body, blow up a small balloon of any bright color and glue or tape the clown shape to the front of it.

To make it come to life, add plastic eyes, a paper party hat, and a yarn bow tie.

As an extra bit of fun, attach a string to the bottom and hang it from the roof or let it float around the room like a happy clown friend.

8. Make a 3D Souvenir

Once you’ve colored and cut out your full-length clown, fold the middle section accordion-style (like a vertical fan) for this craft.

Next, use glitter, confetti, or stickers to decorate a bright piece of construction paper or poster board. Then, glue the clown in the middle of the paper.

Your child can show off his or her cute 3D art anywhere by adding fuzzy pom-poms for hands and feet and yarn for hair.

9. Clown Shoe Garland

First, have the kids draw and cut out a bunch of big clown shoes on bright paper – the goofier, the better!

Next, add buttons, stripes, laces, or even stickers to each shoe to make it look nice. Then, let them color their clown faces and then glue one to each shoe, just above the heel.

To make a silly clown shoe wreath, punch a hole in the top of each shoe and use yarn or ribbon to string them together.

For some fun and color, hang it on the wall, above the door, or on the board in the classroom!

10. Make Something Silly with a Clown

Let the child color an extra-large craft stick with crayons or paint, then glue three bright buttons to the middle of it.

To make the ends of the craft stick into arms, wrap a pipe cleaner around it near the top.

The craft stick’s bottom should be pushed into a Styrofoam base, and then one of their finished clown coloring pages can be added on top.

You can put this silly item on your desk or dresser, where it will make everyone smile.
