In this article, you will find 32 unique chicken coloring pages, all of which are available for free download and printing. A good way for children to learn about these beautiful birds while also having some fun and expressing some creativity is through the use of these chicken printables, which are a great resource for teachers and parents alike.
As you can see, I drew a lot of different kinds of chickens in this series, so there’s something for everyone! There are drawings of chickens that are easy enough for toddlers to color, as well as drawings of chickens sitting on eggs and other types of chickens.
You can color these pages for fun and to learn, but you can also use them for wall art, for a school project, to cover books, for scrapbooking, or even to make decorations for a party with a petting zoo.
Each of these PDF coloring pages is the normal US letter size, but they also work great on A4 paper! Have fun!
10 Crafty Ideas To Do With Chicken Coloring Pages
Here is a list of 10 craft ideas you can do with your completed chicken coloring pages that are not only reasonable but also interesting and imaginative!
1. Storytelling Adventure
You can turn your coloring pages into a storytelling adventure. Firstly, color a bunch of chickens and other things from a farm, like bushes, grass, wood logs, and more.
Then, cut them out and set them on a table with their backs facing down. Everyone takes turns turning the pieces over and making up a crazy story about a farm with what they discover.
2. Birthday Cards
Spending money on a card for a farm-themed birthday party is not necessary. Instead, have your child help you make a homemade one.
If you want to make a birthday card for a child, the best way is to shrink the picture to the bottom right corner.
Fold it in half, align the short ends, and then fold it in half again to center the illustration on the front page. After that, print it off.
Give your little one a blank canvas to paint on while you write a heartfelt “Happy Birthday” and a special note inside.
3. Filling Colorful Colors in Chickens
If you or your kids want to try something new when drawing chickens, don’t make the shapes look like real people.
Instead, think creatively: What if the chickens lived in a fantastic country where nothing was the same as it is on Earth?
What shades or designs might the chickens have?
This activity is fun for both kids and adults, and the prompt can help adults relax after a long day.
4. Collage Coop
For this activity, cut up some colored construction paper and put some glue on it. Once you’ve completed coloring your coloring pages, feel free to cut out additional farmyard items such as suns, fences, or barns.
Then, put chickens and other farm animals on a big piece of construction paper and glue them down to make a scene. To make it even more fun, use crayons or markers to add features.
5. Chickens building nests
You are going to need glue, several craft pom-poms of varied sizes, and a small basket in the shape of an oval for this craft.
Tell your kids they can color the chickens however much or however little they want. Then have them cut them out and, if they have legs, cut them off.
They’re going to add paper to the weak cutouts, cutting it down to the shape of the chickens and leaving a 1-inch strip at the bottom.
You will use the tab to glue the chicken into the middle of the basket, and then fold the strip of paper backward to make it.
Attach the pom-poms to the chicken’s body; they will serve as eggs. Additionally, you could stick in some fake grass or straw for decoration.
6. Painting Fingers
As the children finger-paint my chicken coloring pages, you should lay down a drop cloth or a vinyl tablecloth and allow them to get their hands dirty.
7. Stones
Just a few smooth stones between two and four inches in length and some Mod Podge are all that is required to become a member of the Rock Out movement.
I recommend printing out my chicken drawings at a size of one or two inches, then having your child color them in before cutting them out.
Then you’ll use ModPodge to glue the chickens to the rocks. Also, you could write something cute on the back, like “I know how beautiful chicks are.”
Then simply leave it somewhere public, like a park, playground, or other open area, for someone to find!
8. Chickens with feathers
To make this chicken drawing project, all you’ll need are glue and feathers, which you can get at a craft store or even a dollar store.
Alternatively, if the idea of giving children glue and feathers makes you nauseous, you might use pieces of construction paper cut into the shape of petals instead!
Fill in the chickens with feathers to make a fun 3D picture that is perfect for putting on the fridge.
9. Greeting Cards
Make some feathery greeting cards by selecting a favorite coloring page and using your creative skills. After coloring the page, fold a piece of construction paper in half to form the base of your card.
Then, cut out the colored chicken carefully, then stick it to the front of the card. Write a nice note inside and give it to a family member or friend as a gift. It will make them smile, for sure!
10. Chicken wall art
When you have your clucking works of art, who needs a fancy art gallery? Use vibrant colors to add color to your chicken pictures, making this activity more engaging.
Next, look for some empty frames around the house, or use paint and markers to make simple frames look nice. You should carefully place the colored pages into the frames, and then you should hang them on the wall. You now have your own feathered art gallery!
